Mr & Mrs R

The bridesmaids receiving little pearl necklaces as presents.

The Groom and Best man with the rings.

So here are a selection of photos I took at the Wedding on Sunday, in order of when they were taken, it flows better that way I think.

I'll tell you a couple of things first. 1, I had only met the woman who was doing the photography once before (but she is lovely and I will totally be hiring her to mine lol) 2, I had never met the Bride before and 3, said Bride was 6 months pregnant!

The Grooms party including Best Man, Father of the Groom and Father of the Bride.

It is the weirdest thing to be at someone's wedding and not knowing anyone. I had to stay completely focused throughout and safe to say at the end of it I was shattered. We met at 10:30 but the bride wasn't ready for us till 11:30 and we photographed none stop till like 5 when we got to have some food which the party had theirs.

The Groom and Father of the Bride

I followed Amy (the photographer) round like a puppy, watching her and helping her when needed. She let me take photos from where ever I wanted while she did the main photos. This is why no-one is ever looking at my camera but I like it that way. It feels a bit more natural.

The inside was incredibly dark. So much so that I thought all my photos would be useless. Luckily shooting in Raw turned out to be a bit of a blessing. I was able to modify the images in their purest from so saving the detail.

So once I had done the major edited, I exported out and did the finer details like making the black and white with colour in photoshop.

Bride, Groom and Groom's Mother and Father

The ceremony was inside and we had photos in the bride's room and outside. It rained. Yes another blog post where I mention rain. Even Wrexham can't escape the rain it seems.

Oh yea, the guy in red is Steve, The ToastMaster. Absolutely a fantastic bloke who we had dinner with. He is lovely, seriously.

Overall it was a very good experience and one I did enjoy. I learned a lot and I hope to apply that in the future. I need to invest in a flashgun, makes indoor photography so much easier without using a camera's regular flash which is horrible!

Dunno when I'll next update

Blondie

Well it was either 'Blondie' or 'The rain almost ruined my day, again'. I don't know about you guys but I'm kind of sick of rain related titled so I went with the obvious. I was hoping we would avoid the rain but we got rained on a little once. The rain of course means the sky was rather dark so I had to shoot ISO400 and not the normal ISO200 or ISO100. The photos are a little grainier than normal.

The lack of light meant I was shooting free hand at very low setting so some of the photos were blurry and unusable. I had to get the tripod out at one point but I don't like using the tripod because I feel like I don't have complete control of the camera. Overall I think this turned out OK.

(This one above is my favourite photo of today )

This is the first time I've worked with this model (Whose name is the same as my last model!) She was really lovely and she actually taught me a lot. As a photographer I actually can get a lot more say in things than I thought. We talked for ages about which outfit she was going to wear and we tried different things. It was really fun and I loved it!

This is her bargain dress! She got it for less than £7. I for one was pretty impressed.

You may notice that I was shooting around the same area as the other photo shoot I did but this time I was trying to take the lead and be more inventive and I really like how some of the photos came out.

It then got really cold and windy and dark so we decided to call it a day.

I've spent a good long time trying to save as many images as possible. The problem of such a blonde model and editing is I have to be careful to not loose too much detail in the hair. I don't want to over do it. I think I managed to do okay. I hope she likes them when she sees them.

As I was saying today I hope to get in at least one or two more models before Christmas but my work hours are increase a lot soon for Christmas. I have my fingers crossed.

Mixed Up Ideas

So I've had a bit of a mad week. Was only meant to be working 26hours but ended up doing 31hours. I've had a 3 day break though and I'm back to work tomorrow. I also have a model to meet this week so expect some more photos later in the week! And I'm suppose to be helping a wedding photographer on Sunday but I need to get back in contact with her.

So this post is full of two lots of photos. Some I took one night last week but didn't get round to doing anything with. Others I took today while we had a tiny bit of sunshine.

This little doll I bought in Manchester last weekend. She was too cute not to get. Her body doesn't really move because her clothes are glued to her but her head turns. I adore her little curls and hat. I love how the detail shots came out above even in the dark. I don't often shoot in the dark but I want to start trying things where I can.

As I ended up outside I thought I would play with focus. Usually the foremost object is what I focus on so I decided to change it up a bit. I like to play with different idea's when I'm in the right mood.

I love how the colours on the one above came out. The silver and black stand out against the brown even though they are blurred. I think it's a really nice effect

Now some of you on Facebook may have heard me talking about my new film slr that my dad found and gave to me. It is a beautiful camera. So much so that I had to photograph it to show you. It's 30+ years old and you can tell on the bits connecting the strap. I will most likely get a new strap for it if I can get film for it and it works.

A very attractive camera and I already love the style of it. It is very hard to figure out how it works though. Its even goes down to F1.8 on the aperture ring. I'm still working out how to change the exposure but it seems to be in full working order. It even had its original case but it was pretty badly damaged and falling apart. My dad still has the external flash that goes with it and that even works too! I can't wait to get some film for it!

I hope you all have a good week. I should be back with some more photos later in the week and beginning of next week assuming work doesn't mess me up again.
