My Week in Photos

As usual a bunch of phone pictures of mostly flowers. Taken on Lomo app and different photo editing app.

I'd like to take my photos of the station from the walkway above, to get some interesting angles.

I like how the green 'pops' on this photo compared to my pale skin and the dark background. In essence spring is here in the palm of my hand.

I really love reflection photos and I think i might be getting a little obsessed with them. I like this one with the red umbrella standing out and my shoes being in clear focus. The elements to it are interesting.

Frosty

A cold and somewhat frosty day(mostly de-frosted by the time we went out lol) today but a good day for a walk.

We went to Happy Valley and had a good 2 hour walk, cutting through Bramhall Park on the way back home. None of these photos are from Bramhall Park though, for a change.

It was a good walk, I spent most of it talking to my dad about my life. Well, what I'm going to do about my life this year. There isn't something specific that I am good at. I like lots of things: Photography, Writing, Drawing and Illustration. So the plan is to push forward with them, enter competitions for photography and writing. Use contacts to get involve with people who might be able to offer me advice about doing Children's picture books. Do more work in all these areas.

I was thinking about going back to college but Stockport College are useless in getting back in contact with me and it was only an A level. I could do a Nation Diploma Level 3 part time but its in Didsbury at Manchester college's campus. But! I still don't know If I want my career to be photography. The problem I have is a lot of people can do what I can and I need to push myself out there. Show myself to people and make contacts.

There might be some promise for next year but I have to start now to push forward this year. I'm going to work hard on Cross and Pike, and create the children's picture books I want to make even if its just to see if I can. I want to take as many photos and improve as much as possible on my own.

I dunno when the next lot of photos will be up, got a lot to think about and need to split my time between everything. I do hope to organise some shoots soon

A flower cannot blossom without sunshine

"A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love." - Max Muller

A lovely quote which goes with the weather today. The sun is out and it is gorgeous outside! I wasn't going to stay in on my day off so here are some photos!

I woke up earlyier than I had planned (got to be up at 6.15 for the next 3 days after today for work :/ ) but the sun was shining early in the day. I decided to go out in the garden with my camera. As usual I was accompanied by my cat.

He thinks no-one can see him.

The light on the water droplets made these images very blurry and somewhat abstract but I like these. I didn't edit them at all :D It's the first time images have done this and it's interesting to play with.

I then wandered over to Bramhall Park, just down the road from my house. Flowers, leaves and photogenic geese today.

I love the colours on this photo.

My Moo.com business Cards arrived today. I chose a selection of my favourite photos to use. Here is what they look like

I have a photo shoot on the 7th so I don't think I'll post anything before then. I might do a "My Day in Photos" as I'm hopefully going to a wedding fair on Sunday (It'll only be on my phone and not my slr most likely) We'll see.

Have a good week

My Day In Photos -26/09

It was my day off today and to be honest, I didn't feel like doing much. I stayed over at my Fiancée's house and went into Manchester City centre with him so he could go to work and I could go home. This post is more like stuff that happened in photos rather than a photo shoot or something like that, sorry lol

My lunch at Cafe Nero, one of my fave coffee shops. It was the first time I had the soup and I must say it was lush! I was in the mood for something a bit different. Sorry the quality isn't great, some of these were taken with my phone.

My Fiancée bought this little Chocolate bear. It's quite funny to me as I refer to him as my teddy bear because he is big and cuddly as well as having blonde curly hair. He really is like a life sized teddy bear. Anyway the chocolate was lovely :D

I love flower shops. I wish I could buy more flowers to take photos of. When I move out, the place will be filled with them :D

At least at the time of day I was heading home (like 2pm I think) it was nice. The sun was shining. My walk home from the train station is nice on day's like today, otherwise it's horrible lol.

Look who it is! Why it is me! I hate doing self portraits (they always come out blurry for a start lol). I did a bit of shopping today. I have been looking at coloured tights for weeks now. I really wanted to red ones but every time I looked at them, they never had them in my size. Today was different! I got Red, Cobalt Blue (the ones I'm wearing in the photos) and Sky Blue (reduced to 50p!) tights. Very happy. Also I can finally fit in those shorts. I love them so but I haven't worn them out yet. I was too worried my legs were too fat. Still not 100% sure lol

Also my lovely new shoes. I wanted ankle boots but I tried on loads and either they were too pointy and painful or my feet just slid out. I don't normally go for converse style shoes but these were so comfy the moment I put them on. The have lace on the sides and tie with a ribbon. They will go with EVERYTHING. I hope lol.

A cute headband I bought (My hair is annoying me at the moment so trying to find ways of doing stuff with it)

Me and my cat :D So have another one of him:

Sunbathing while I was taking photos :D

I also bought a watch because I snapped the strap of mine at work yesterday :( was very annoyed. So I bought the cheapest one I could find so I wouldn't be bothered if I snapped it again. £4 for a watch isn't bad and I do like stars :D Sorry It's not a great blog post but hey! you get to learn a bit more about me :D

Mixed Up Ideas

So I've had a bit of a mad week. Was only meant to be working 26hours but ended up doing 31hours. I've had a 3 day break though and I'm back to work tomorrow. I also have a model to meet this week so expect some more photos later in the week! And I'm suppose to be helping a wedding photographer on Sunday but I need to get back in contact with her.

So this post is full of two lots of photos. Some I took one night last week but didn't get round to doing anything with. Others I took today while we had a tiny bit of sunshine.

This little doll I bought in Manchester last weekend. She was too cute not to get. Her body doesn't really move because her clothes are glued to her but her head turns. I adore her little curls and hat. I love how the detail shots came out above even in the dark. I don't often shoot in the dark but I want to start trying things where I can.

As I ended up outside I thought I would play with focus. Usually the foremost object is what I focus on so I decided to change it up a bit. I like to play with different idea's when I'm in the right mood.

I love how the colours on the one above came out. The silver and black stand out against the brown even though they are blurred. I think it's a really nice effect

Now some of you on Facebook may have heard me talking about my new film slr that my dad found and gave to me. It is a beautiful camera. So much so that I had to photograph it to show you. It's 30+ years old and you can tell on the bits connecting the strap. I will most likely get a new strap for it if I can get film for it and it works.

A very attractive camera and I already love the style of it. It is very hard to figure out how it works though. Its even goes down to F1.8 on the aperture ring. I'm still working out how to change the exposure but it seems to be in full working order. It even had its original case but it was pretty badly damaged and falling apart. My dad still has the external flash that goes with it and that even works too! I can't wait to get some film for it!

I hope you all have a good week. I should be back with some more photos later in the week and beginning of next week assuming work doesn't mess me up again.
