Instagram!!!!!

So, you can now get Instagram on Android phones. Naturally I downloaded it and now I'm obsessed with it. It is a fun little tool to work with. This is a selection of the photos I have taken using it so far:

1. I got it while in Sheffield this week and was playing with it. This was taken stood waiting fro the tram to take us back to Ciaran's flat.
2. Bored at Ciaran's flat, playing with light and glass. The only nice Glass to hand? My joke Christmas present from my sister :D
3. A photo I already had on my phone, cropped and edited with Instagram.

4. On my way to/from work there are lots of trees that are still blooming so I've been taking as many photos as I can. This has been adding an extra 10mins to my walk home!
5. Playing with the effects Instagram has.
6. Bored waiting for my train to work. I take photos a lot when I'm bored.

7/8/9. On journey to/from work

10/11/12.  On journey to/from work

13/14/15. Books! :D

Will update again as soon as I can! I've got a weeks holiday next week which includes a trip to Newcastle to see friends, I will have my camera! As in my proper camera.

Also you can find my under MidnightTopaz on Instagram! If anyone else has Instagram, let me know, I'd love to have a look! :D

My Week in Photos

As usual a bunch of phone pictures of mostly flowers. Taken on Lomo app and different photo editing app.

I'd like to take my photos of the station from the walkway above, to get some interesting angles.

I like how the green 'pops' on this photo compared to my pale skin and the dark background. In essence spring is here in the palm of my hand.

I really love reflection photos and I think i might be getting a little obsessed with them. I like this one with the red umbrella standing out and my shoes being in clear focus. The elements to it are interesting.

Truth is the torch that gleams through the fog without dispelling it

'Truth is the torch that gleams through the fog without dispelling it.'

It's been almost a month since I've taken ANY photos. So been given the chance to go out with my camera, I couldn't say no!
I went out on a walk with my family even though it was foggy and trying to rain. It did rain quite hard a one point so I had to put my camera away.

This is my favourite photo from today.

To be honest though, considering I had to turn down my ISO to 400 I got some really good photos. I've been wanting to take fog related photos for AGES. So I was super excited and kept falling behind the group lol

You may have noticed that these photos have extra colour. I wanted to play with the colours a bit, give them some extra interest. It was a fun exercise that given the time I would like to do again.
I'm hoping to get out next weekend with the camera to a new place. I haven't decided where yet.

Enjoy this random goose stood on ice

Since the last post I have decided to not go to college for photography. I have realised that I need to keep some things a hobby for now while I work on Design related projects. I do have a couple of Writing competitions I want to enter this year too. I'm hoping I can enter some of these photos into contests too!

Wish me luck everyone!

From Sheffield to home

A bunch of semi-recent photos. Some from my Camera and some from my phone, so sorry for the bad quality!

Capturing the fog as I left Sheffield and was sat on the train home. At one point I couldn't see anything except the bit of track next to the train.

My lovely cat being silly. He loves to play and this is like a hiding place for him. I find it amusing that you can't see his eyes either.

This just made me laugh SO much. The Nerd in me, anyways. Operation GOTHAM. Sorry, is Stockport waiting for Batman to save the day? I just found it so funny.

Trying to capture the sheer amount of rain falling in Stockport. Failed because again this was on my phone. You can see how the ground is though!

This! OMG this! I saw this and I nearly let out a squee like a small child! You put money on the fish plate and when the cat thinks your not looking, it'll swipe it into the box. It's just too cute

My current list of books to read. Click on the image to go to my blog that talks about books!

Sorry for lack of photos but I'm hoping to take my camera to Sheffield next time I go (I know I said that last time but I WILL this time)

No person has the right to rain on your dreams

'No person has the right to rain on your dreams'

I wanted a title that was related to rain without just being 'rain is horrible'. It rained pretty bad while we were out taking photos yesterday. It also meant the light to take them with was pretty much non-existent.

So I've tried to meet Laura before and we didn't have much luck. This time we managed it! We met in Victoria Station in Manchester City Center.

We had A LOT of rain. Every time we went inside to get out of the rain, the sun would come out. It got a little bit annoying. We kept going, the best we could and I think we did OK.

We started by Urbis, the water fountains weren't on though which was a bit of a shame. Would have been nice. We then had quite a think about other locations and ended up round the back streets near Aflecks. Was a bit of a walk.

As I said to Laura, I need to go explore parts of Manchester I haven't been to before for new places to shoot. I could also do with getting a flash gun to be able to shoot better under cover and in the dark (eg, when it rains because winter is coming. It's not going to get any better weather wise)

I had to edit all of the photos and some were blurry on my computer but I think we got a selection of good photos. As usual I preferred the photos I took slightly later, once I had relaxed back into taking photos. Laura was a pleasure to work with. Just a shame the rain cut us a bit short.

I would like to do some winter/wrapped up and snow photos nearer to Christmas when I next work with a model. I don't know when I'll have the chance around work.

Fingers crossed :D

Take care

Fiona
